Biographies
of Authors
Richard S. Jacobson was born June 2, 1910, and grew up in
South Boston. Graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, worked
as a reporter and editor at the Boston Herald Traveler, and served
in Air Force intelligence during World War II. In 1958, he became
AAJ's National Director of Public Affairs and Education and launched
TRIAL as its first editor in 1964. From 1975 to 1979, he was Executive
Director of the Roscoe Pound Foundation and continues as a consultant.
Jeffrey R. White graduated from Georgetown University Law
Center in 1977. He was editor of the AAJ Law Reporter from 1978 to
1987, when he became Associate General Counsel for AAJ's Amicus Curiae
Program. He has authored over 100 amicus briefs presenting AAJ's
views to the U.S. Supreme Court and to other courts around the country.
He continues that work with AAJ's affiliated law firm, the Center
for Constitutional Litigation.
