Qualifications:
- A minimum of four years in the marketing communications field
- BA/BS in marketing
- Must have experience planning and executing all direct mail, advertising, and email communications
- Previous experience in database analysis and knowledge of MS Office is required

Job Title: Senior Web Producer
Job Number: #08-11
Department: Online Initiatives
The Sr. Producer will manage the day-to-day operations of the redesign in progress, as well as additional developments and new initiatives. Ideal candidates will have extensive project management experience, in addition to experience scoping projects from concept through execution, formulating and managing budgets, and supervision of staff and vendors. The Sr. Web Producer will work closely with the Director of Online Communications, the in-house engineering team, third party vendors, and content production teams to assure site standards, manage new initiatives, and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
Job Duties:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of AAJ web properties.
- Manage requirements development, progress and delivery of short and long-term projects related to site maintenance, enhancements and new initiatives.
- Create and maintain thorough project roadmaps for new initiatives (i.e. project brief, requirements development, production timeline, sitemap, wireframe deck, etc.)
- Manage resources assigned to various projects, and supervise daily progress.
- Monitor and analyze site metrics, systems performance, and user activity.
- Research and recommend features, functions, and solutions to transform static information into an engaging web experience for users and members.
- Leverage constructive and effective relationships inside and outside the organization. Work in partnership with others in a collaborative or advisory role.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and new online developments; suggest and adopt relevant best practices whenever applicable.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of Website production technologies, including popular content management platforms (Drupal, Convio, RedDot, Vignette, etc.).
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of emerging communications trends, tools, and strategies.
- 5 years web development/project management experience.
- High-level knowledge of technology systems and software integration, database management and Web site structure, function and management.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- The ability to take ownership of each project; proven track record of success in prioritizing and managing multiple projects, project forecasting and resource planning.
- Demonstrated experience with metadata, taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and classification schema.
- Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team.
- Proficiency with HTML, Photoshop, Illustrator, MS Project, Visio.
- General understanding of XML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, Flash.
Desired Skills/Qualities:
- Interest in social networks and leveraging Web 2.0 technologies.
- Experience with email campaigns.

- Provide ongoing service to current display and professional services advertisers in all AAJ publications and online advertising spaces. Serve as the liaison to outside sales rep companies.
- Initiate activities, e.g., direct mail campaigns, face-to-face client contacts, and attendance at trade shows, to broaden the market base and increase the number of advertisers.
- Initiate and supervise advertising and marketing activities relating to all online sales opportunities with AAJ, including justice.org, AAJ L@w News Digest, and TRIAL and Law Reporter monthly emails. Develop and manage all ad sales for TRIAL’s new website.
- Oversee production activities that relate to advertisements.
- Supervise the Sales Assistant.
- Sell advertising for the convention program pocket and membership directory, and oversee the sales activities on the convention program book, conducted by the Sales Assistant.
- Develop and execute the Friends of Justice program.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in magazine publishing/sales environment;
- BA/BS degree preferred;
- Strong knowledge of online and print ad sales is required;
- Strong knowledge of internet marketing;
- Strong knowledge of magazine production is a must, including extensive knowledge on how printing works and artwork is handled;
- Excellent communications and sales management skills;
- Excellent organizational and managerial skills;
- Ability to meet established deadlines; and
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
